Junior Kyle Monahan and freshman Cameron Bujaucius will give John Carroll University one representative in each race as both have qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division III men's and women's cross country championships.

John Carroll had three runners earn top four finishes, leading the Blue Streaks to a sixth place finish at the 2018 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships held at Blue River Park in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Freshman Cameron Bujaucius made her debut at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region Championships a strong one, as she placed 15th overall Saturday afternoon in the meet held at at Blue River Park in Shelbyville, Indiana.

With eight runners among the top 30 finishers, John Carroll would have beaten most teams and most days.

John Carroll was thought to be in a rebuilding year and not much of a threat to challenge for a conference title in 2018.

In the preseason, John Carroll was selected as the favorite to win the 2018 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships.

Now, on the eve of that championship meet, the Blue Streaks are primed to live up to that prognostication.

For the last three years, John Carroll has been the runner-up at the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Championships.

Those were veteran teams.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced that the John Carroll men's cross country team has been ranked 32nd in the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll.

It did not matter whether John Carroll had ten of its runners at one meet in New Jersey or another nine at a meet in Ohio. Splitting the squads still yielded two top ten finishes in a pair of regional meets for the Blue Streaks.

John Carroll had four runners in the top 50 to earn a fourth place showing against a loaded field Saturday at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
