Led by four top six placers in the 800m and the 3k, the John Carroll University men's track and field team cruised to a 19-point victory at the Bob Shannon Invitational hosted by Denison University of Saturday.

John Carroll was the only team to pull off a 1-2-3 sweep in any event Saturday at the 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference Split North meet, serving as one of many highlights for the Blue Streaks men's track & field team.

John Carroll used five first place finishes to push to a second place team showing Friday night at the Baldwin Wallace Mid-January Meet held in Berea on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.

A top three finish in the first meet of the season would appear to be a great place to start for the John Carroll men's track & field team.

All the more reason for optimism is the points came from a variety of people in a variety of events.
